For the last year and a half I have been fortunate enough to work for Mango Studios, a lovely cosy family studio in Cobham run by two incredible woman. Today was my last official day, as next week I go back to a Monday-Friday office job, something I didn't think I would be doing again! It is a shame to leave a job you love, but as the saying goes when one door closes another opens, and as I am planning great things for the end of this year I need to fill my bank with as many pennies as possible!
Together we photographed newborns, toddlers, pregnancies, families and parties, in the studio and outdoors. It's been so much fun, and occasionally manic, and in that time I have learnt so much. A crazy amount of tea has been drunk and there have been a LOT of laughs. From accidentally killing all the plants, to being left in charge of another persons plant (did she not see the dead daisys?), painting the walls, dancing to cheesy music, pregnant Becky eating all Liana's food, kids picking up dog poo, Liana losing her car keys inside her car, the terrible builder who in fact did the wall well, too many unattractive lighting tests, crazy families, hectic mini shoots, Christmas stalls, eating too many cupcakes and eating just the right amount of biscuits. There aren’t many jobs out there that you can talk to your bosses like they are your friends.
I’m fortunate enough that it’s not a forever goodbye and I will be continuing to do some freelance work for the studio. Along side all my weddings that I have coming up this year and planning fundraising events for my trip to Tanzania it’s safe to say I will be pretty busy!
Let the adventure’s begin!
